Elijah Wood Shares His Thoughts On LOTR's "Meat's Back On The Menu" Debate

One element of Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings film series that people like to joke about and discuss is how, in The Two Towers, one of the Uruk-hai leaders, Ugluk, proclaims, “Looks like meat’s back on the menu, boys!” It’s become something of a meme. But people have pointed out that, for Ugluk to say this, it also means that restaurants and menus also exist in Middle-earth. And if that’s the case, what else may be on their menus? We don’t have any definitive answers, but Frodo actor Elijah Wood has sounded off with his thoughts on the matter. He said at Liverpool Comic-Con earlier this year that it’s best to not give the matter too much thought. As reported by Pop Verse, Wood used an example from Star Wars to make the point that everyone is thinking way too much about what …

Call Of Duty Black Ops 6 Cutscenes Have Leaked Online

Activision’s upcoming shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 continues to be hit by leaks. This time, all of the campaign cutscenes have been leaked instead of more multiplayer mechanics making their way online.Like the earlier leaks, the reason seems to be that beta files for Black Ops 6 were uploaded to the PSN database for PlayStation 4 users, according to the official Charlie Intel X/Twitter account. Based on recent trailers, Black Ops 6 takes place in the ’90s at the end of the Cold War and will feature legacy characters such as Woods and Adler. Similar to Black Ops Cold War, the game will have players second-guessing who they can trust.

Valve's New Game Deadlock Hasn't Been Announced, Already Has Almost 17,000 Concurrent Players

Valve’s apparent next project, Deadlock, already has a concurrent player count and the game hasn’t even been announced. On SteamDB, Deadlock is sitting at a concurrent player count of 16,947, with a little more than 13,000 players playing right now, which is more than games like Payday 2 and NBA 2K24 at the moment. The issue is that Deadlock hasn’t been announced or revealed in any capacity. When trying to install the game through clicking the button on the SteamDB page, Steam returns with a screen that says, “An error occurred while launching this game: Game configuration unavailable.”Those who have gotten in and played would be wise to keep it on the down low. Despite the huge player numbers, Valve is adamant that no one share their experience. The Verge’s Sean Hollister found that out sh…

Channing Tatum Says He Would Kill Kittens To Make A Gambit Movie, Gives Hopeful Update

Actor Channing Tatum has joked that he would do all manner of unspeakable things, including killing kittens, to be able to make a standalone Gambit movie. Tatum was going to play Gambit in such a film, but it was scuttled after Disney acquired the character’s theatrical rights from Fox, Tatum explained in a recent interview. But the film could now be back on, or at least Tatum believes it’s headed in the right direction. This story contains spoilers for Deadpool & Wolverine. Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Tatum said he worked on the Gambit movie for six years, and when it was on the “one-yard line,” Disney took over and everything changed.”We were about to make the movie, and then Fox got bought by Disney,” Tatum said. The actor went on to…

First The Mandalorian And Grogu Footage Revealed At D23

It’s been almost five years since a Star Wars movie was in theaters, but that’s going to change in 2026 when The Mandalorian & Grogu arrives just in time for the 49th anniversary of the franchise. At D23, fans discovered that the film has already started production, and the first footage was screened for the crowd.Because the movie has only been shooting for a few weeks, there wasn’t a lot to show off. Lucasfilm started with a flashback to the first meeting of Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin and Grogu from the first episode of The Mandalorian. From there, we saw a glimpse of their further adventures, which include going up against an AT-AT.Grogu still leaves the shooting to his daddy, but they also spend some quiet time together to share some soup. Zeb from Star Wars Rebels briefly shows up …

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Reanimates A Messy Classic

When Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster (DRDR) was revealed, I was confused–despite its name–about whether to consider it a remaster or a remake. The line has become increasingly blurred in recent years, with things like the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and The Last of Us Part I being called remakes even though they seem to be more akin to admittedly extravagant coats of new paint. After several hours with DRDR, it’s now clear to me that this is a project much like those two examples. It’s inch-by-inch faithful to the original in most ways, and includes some great quality-of-life updates, but also retains the original game’s faults. And yet, when I’m playing it, I can’t shake the feeling that it remains an imperfect classic.
